So of course i went to petco today to just buy some supplies, but do you think i could walk out of there without a fish? Since losing my old betta boy a week ago, i bought another betta. I think it is a veiltail, nothing special but it is a gorgeous purple and white marble! He is so cute! Any name suggestions?

I have two empty tanks, would he prefer a 2 gallon hexagon tank or 2 gallon rectangular tank?

I would suggest the rectangle... more swimming space. I have a hex as well as several rectangles. I find the longer the tank the better.... and call him ELVIS

Congrats on the new betta Hooktor. Betta's can sure be addictive. Since buying my first one in many years about 2 months ago, have been wanting more. Just found a 2.5 gallon mini-bow at the local thrift store for $4 so guess what, setting it up for another betta.

I think Prince would be a better name for Purple & White.

EVERY betta keeper should have a fish named ELVIS IMO

Thank ya'll for the warning, I will not go to PetCo this month, I promise, walmart seemed to get in a lot of little females that are marked more like plakats and I'm having serious trouble with them adding to the addiction

Cost of betta $ 3.47
Cost of betta tank $12.99
Cost of insanity priceless:%)

I just put in a huge clump of java moss and he is so excited. He loves it! He rests on top of it and circles around it, and wow, i never knew java moss was so fun...

Hmm... it's time to trim my java moss, maybe I'll throw some in my different betta tanks and see what they have to say about it. Good idea!
