I guess there is no sure fire way of finding out which one would suit the other. I saw this beautiful crown betta the other day and I just wanted to get him home.

in a 75 they would be fine, just so long as the male, or female isnt overly aggressive, it tok me a while to fine a male and female who were compatibal, they loved eachother, so much, just months after they got together they bred all on their own

my multiple betta syndrome has only grown to male and female VT and male and female CT. by boyfriend said that we cant fit anymore betta's in our one bedroom apt...which doesnt make sense to me because to wants a big tank so he an take the 10 gallon for a dwarf puffer tank.

my females and males have their own tanks...i wouldnt keep them together. and they might not like the current in your 75 it could rip his/hers fins to shreds

I just had one more question. I have a 79 gallon tank. LBH=4 X 1.5 X 21inches. I keep clown loaches and angels in the tank and I am thinking of getting me a male crown betta. Can I (I really, really want to) keep a female in the same tank?

I have been told no before, but I just wanted to get a 2nd opinion.

beachbabe, I live in Ohio.... And while I've never had any mishaps with Bettas ordered online it might be due to several factors....

First of all, our mail at home arrives shortly before or shortly after my husband gets home from work --- which means a very short period of time when the delivered boxes are left to the elements - if at all.....

With our colder weather setting in, my latest acquisitions have been delivered to my daughter in law at her place of employment (I work in a physicians' office which is currently located in our hospital - which means all the mail goes through the central processing center, and I'm not willing to risk a delayed delivery)....

In the warmer months I just use priority mail, and in the colder times I go Express mail....

Hope this helps!

Clownygirl, they arent in the same tank although the tanks are identical....
agaius, i will keep in mind Sunset, but i havent yet decided. my mom said flame but hes kinda a weanie...wont flare most of the time(just doesnt wanna pose for the camera)
i keep my female in my 10 gallon with some guppies and pygmy cories. i had fishy in there before i got my female but i removed him because he was getting picked on by my male guppy(who is like half his size)
i started with one male(Fishy)... then got a female and she died right away, then got another one and again same thing granted they were bought at a chain pet store. then i bought my current female to rescue her from a nasty cup in a store (not a pet store if ya get my drift). i have had her for about two months now. now another one.....i dont think it will ever stop...they really should have a warning..

That IS such a beautiful fish - It reminds me of a Sunset [Hint-Hint!]. I wish I could find Crown Tails locally; all I find are ragged red or blue veil tails. No offense, they are quite beautiful too, but I am always looking for something different (i.e. not blue nor red, and especially not with ripped tails).

My lfs here even stocks some female CT's from time to to time, but normally when i go he has a couple CT's and he had in two placket males that i passed up, even though they were beautiful. dreamweaver where abouts are you...i have never ordered fish for fear of death durning shipping, because i have odd hours that i am home due to my college classes.

LOVE THAT CROWNTAIL!!!!

I have 3 male Crowntails and due to their appearance opted for the following names: Jester, Joker & Harley (short for Harlequin).... Kind of have a theme going --- but I'm currently running out of names.... and know that I have at least one more purchase in my future!!!

Now I've never been lucky enough to find a Crowntail at Wal Mart or even the local lfs... but I have been fortunate to find them online (eBay & Colorado Crowntails) at fairly reasonable prices.... and I'm afraid they're just as addicting as the rest!!!!

GOOD FIND!!!!!
