Pearl Gourami Native Habitat, Please? | |
erinyes Small Fry Posts: 10 Kudos: 5 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Jul-2004 | Does anyone have information on the native habitat of the Pearl Gourami? I'm turning a 55 gal into a paludarium for some and I'd like it to be as realistic as possible. The most detailed information I can find is "Malaysia peninsula, Thailand, Sumatra and Borneo, Southern China, and Sunda Islands." Pictures would be excellent if possible. [link=linky]http://fish.mongabay.com/species/Trichogaster_leerii.html" style="COLOR: #66CCFF[/link] Ok, maybe this will help: These beautiful fish inhabit shallow flowing streams running through areas of rainforest. To replicate their natural habitat the aquarium should be filled to only 12in with soft, slightly acidic water. A dense covering of floating plants and subdued lighting is recommended. Hope this helped some. And I'd love to see pics, it sounds like a wonderful setup! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

That is a sign of an adult male. Last edited by LITTLE_FISH at 20-Jan-2006 12:31[/font] |
