Pearl gouramis | |

Maybe the Black Neons will eat much of the fry....... http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

If they would eat them I might just stick with some rams because I've heard people have had good luck with rams and ghost shrimp. |

Rams are very cool fish to and are fun to watch if you get a pair that will spawn, I would take rams over gourami's any day, because they are smaller and have lots of personality, also they are pretty easy to take care of. -Vincent |

The bigger gourami species are more likely to leave them alone. I never had any trouble with 3 spots and shrimp but sparkling, spiketails, and dwarf gouramis would wipe them out. Rams are hit or miss especially if you end up with a breeding pair. It's not guranteed with any of those fish but I'd mix pearls and shrimp before rams and shrimp. |
