Pearls Being Mean | |

All male anabantids will be agressive to each other to some extent... It's part of their nature... Depending on how agressive your fish are, you may need to seperate them or take one back. |

terranova Fish Master Posts: 1984 Kudos: 1889 Votes: 229 Registered: 09-Jul-2003 | Pearls usually are peaceful, but like John said, there's two combinations you could have of m/f that could lead to aggression. *Almost* all gouramis are very peaceful fish, except when two males are together. You may want to try keeping them in odd numbers, or solo. Try moving the decor around and keeping the tank heavily planted, so the more dominant one loses his territory. Never hurts him -- just keeps driving him into a corner. (Both are males.) The smaller male doesn't seem unhappy, and comes out to eat (the other male usually lets him) but I'm going to separate them anyway. |
