Anyone ever mixed these?
I got a 60gal thats not really in use right now. I use it as a growout for my juvies, but I hate having it empy when I don't have any youngins to thro in it. So I saw some super cute little rams at the LSF today. And i wondered if they'd be alright with a bunch of little bettas or even a bunch of females as I might turn it into a female tank...

They will try to kill eachother expecially if they look any way shape or form the same. I have had them together in my 55. They each had one side of the tank if one trespassed he was beaten and fin shreaded.

I was wondering the same. I have 2 Bolivian Rams and wondered if I can add my betta into the 30 gallon tank. So far, the Rams has shown absolutely no aggression towards my Cories and Cardinals.

I guess Betta shouldn't mix with other fish that has large fins like Rams.

I wouldn't put male bettas in with rams, but the "non" aggressive females should be ok. My worries about them with the male betta isn't the ram picking on the betta, it's more the betta picking on the rams.
I have never seen or heard of rams being fin nippers, at worst I have seen them lip lock for a second then all was good.
What you really need to ask yourself is, are they compatible with ph levels needed. I have read reports of bettas tails becoming mush when kept in a low PH. Blue rams need to be around 6.4. Can bettas handle that low of a PH? I dunno *shrugs* Bolivian rams like their water around 7.0. Both are very peaceful fish but my vote would be to go with the Bolivians.

Hmmm i guess it will just stay empty for a while then LOL
Bettas can handle a ph of 6.4, but iam just to lazy to try and lower it lol!

Ah you'd be suprised how many prefer larger tanks! Especially when you've got dozens of juvies swimming around, they swim at all levels. Which is kinda annoying when trying to net them

I don't think thay could be mixed in the same tank. I wouldn't try it myself.
