Well i tried to breed Picasso, my marble betta, but he just did not really know how to build a bubble nest so i redid his tank for a living space with gravel and everything, not just for breeding anymore. When i went away on vacation for a week my mom forgot to feed him so hopefully he will get better soon!

Looks like a nice bachelor pad for the little guy and don't worry feed him nicely and he'll be just fine...heidi

ps what is that one of the 2 gallons with a biowheel? sometimes the filtration will keep the bubble nest from being stablehml

It is a 6 gallon and before i had him in a ten with a sponge filter. In the ten i turned the filter off for a few days and did water changes to see if the sponge filter was affecting his bubble nest building, but still he just blew random bubbles and then he blew bubbles in straight lines.

He seems happier, but i forgot the mention i was also looking for suggestions, crypts maybe? Any company?

He should be ok after a week fast. I had a friend who had fry in her tank and didn't know it. She went away for spring break, and they were all right when she got back. Maybe some java fern attached to a small driftwood? As for a tankmate, I don't think he really needs one. A 6g would give him a lot of room to swim and show himself off.

I went to petsmart and they had a gorgeous cryptocorne wendtii. I liked the way it looked because it was so full, i added it to the tank, what do you think?

How do you think a school of pygmy cories would do in the tank? I am guessing albino cories are too large... I love cories, it is just that i have them in my planted tank and i never see them because they hide in the heavily planted areas...

Maybe 4 very small Corydoras would be fine, but make sure that Picasso don't pick on them.

Looks like a very well maintained tank... As far as feeding, several breeders have told me that Bettas can survive for up to a week without food... Naturally you wouldn't want this to your regular feeding routine, but at times it helps to know this.... Picasso should be just fine!

I have been feeding him frozen bloodworms for the last few days, and he has made a complete recovery! He is swimming faster than ever before! It's amazing what good food can do!
