OK I finally got everyone moved about the other day, bettas that is...and was going to put Rosa and Ruby in a 2 gallon with plants, and move Ghingus to a 1 gallon.

Well, after trying to let them float together for a bit, it appeared that Rosa might not be femaleor she is very aggressiveshe tried to get to Ruby through the baggies...

I still had Ghingus in a bag as well, and he was strutting his stuff, to try and get Ruby's attention, so I put him and Rosa together to float, and they all but tore their bags apart to try and kill each other...

So I'm wondering could "Rosa" not be female like she was marked? Could she be a he? Or is she just a very aggressive not so ladylike Betta Babe? I tried to catch her to check her belly for the egg thingy, but she went into a nipping fit, and well I like my fingers...so here are two pics...neither are the best, one has Ghingus in the background flairing for all he's worth...

Either way I guess it doesn't matter, she's got her own tank, and Ruby ended up in the 125 in a breeding net for nowheidi

She's a he.

Its a pretty recognisable shape once you get to know it, much deeper in the body

My Jezebel turned out the same way, heidi... sold as female, but Jezebel is apparently Jezebeau now. Looks a bit like your Rosa, actually, only Jez is deep blue with only a touch of red/purple. Lovely betta, in any case.

~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~
