Okay. I waited and waited and waited some more. My male betta, Smokey, is nesting as is the female (for some reason) who is also "full with eggs" I think they are bolth ready. I'm going to move Klaus (betta currrently occupying breeding tank) into the spare tank and move Smokey in after a large water change. Is there anything I should do first? Am I forgetting anything this time? I want everything to go as smoothly as possible.

tell us about the set-up, even though we all have found different ways of doing things, their are some things in common that can help you in sucess, but like i have told ya many times, dont force anything and if it never occurs than that is fine too.

It is a 10g bare tank with a little gravel and a large plant in the corner. I have a 1g "jar" that is in the other corner of the tank, where I usually put the female. (I can always move this around or get rid of it) I am not trying to force anything as I waited much longer than everyone told me too (my advice was to wait one month befor trying again) and I have cared for them all semester. ^_^ I'm hoping it works and I don't want to force them. What are the 'common' things?

again i am not saying that what you do is wrong, but it is just a saying that i say with all fish breeding.

some common things :
include: bare bottom tanks, low water level, heated water etc..

but their are other factors that we all have different ways of doing, for example i sometimes use banana leaves to alter the water ph, to make more females.
