Any thoughts on sexing a snakeskin gourami? This one is 4-5" long, here are a couple of recent pics:

I would go with male, the top fin seems pointed. The female on the profile is definately rounded, while yours is more pointed. We will see what others think.

What does that mean, Bob? "Till the cows come home." Where have the cows been?

I can't really tel 100% since the dorsal fin isn't fully extended in the pics, but I think it's a male too because the dorsal seems rather pointy. My female Opaline looks like this:

notice the roundness to her dorsal fin

Thanks

After more reading and looking at lots of pics I think it's a male too. I haven't been able to get a good shot yet with his dorsal fully extended.

From that photo my guess would be a male, however it would be a bit easier to possibly tell if the dorsal fin was fully extended.

Additionally, when I have kept gourami's the females to me always appeared to have a larger and more rounded abdomen area.
