Almost all the profiles and the info I've read on internet about these fish suggest that they are the least aggressive among the gouramis. Even males of the type can coexist peacefully. My personal experience has been quite opposite. I bought a pair and at that time they were too small to be sexed. Once settled, they became really aggressive towards each other so i had to separate them. After some time, I tried moving the separated one back to the main tank and in just one hour, the tail and feelers of the new comer were missing. It had a large wound too. It also keeps chasing the single drawf gourami all times. So at least for me, these fish are NOT peaceful! here is a picture of mine http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k96/mughal113/snake_skin.jpg |
