They only grow to about 4 centimeters, and will not bother most tankmates. Males (as with most gouramis) will show some aggression towards each other, but that can be remedied if the fish are given plenty of space. These fish need heaters, as they like to be kept in water heated to about 25 degrees C. The minimum tank size for these gouramis is five gallons, though more would of course be appreciated. I hope you find this information helpful. |

I think my 5 gallon might be at its full limit though...2 WCMM, 3 small danios, 1 otto, 1 cory...oh, and 1 Cardnal Tetra. I plan on moving the danios or the WCMM to my empty 3 gallon once I remove the ICK though. |

Toirtis Mega Fish Posts: 1260 Kudos: 529 Votes: 6 Registered: 24-Feb-2003 | I would suggest a ten for a couple of pair of sparkling gouramis and a small school of pygmy corys. The other fish can go in that 5, but an 8 or 10 would be far better. |

katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004 | I would say that too, all of those fish need schools of at least 6(otos shoal, so 3 for them), and there is way too many fish to begin with. Last edited by katieb at 06-Dec-2004 21:15 I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |

Your 5g is "heavily overstocked" in my opinion as well. All those fish require schools of at least 6. Why don't you invest in a larger tank like a 25g.
