Aggression issues. Hopefully though, the above links will help ! Peace, DaFishMan [span class="edited"][Edited by DaFishMan 2004-07-28 22:04][/span] The Amazon Nut... |

I'm thinking that the filter might disrupt a bubble nest, but if the current isn't too rough on the nest... why not? What other fish are in the tank? You might consider separating the parents into their own tank if you truly want them to breed. That would be fun, though, wouldn't it? Wee lil gouramis in your tank. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

I believe that means lowering the water level a few inches and sealing the top quite tightly in order to create some warm moist air above the water. Apparently this is necessary for their labyrinth organ(?) to develop properly. My male dwarf gourami built bubble nests when I fist put the pair in my community tank but nothing ever came of it and he finally stopped. |

Well there are 6 gouramis in there, 3 gold and 3....I forget what there called the silvery ones with the spots...and there are just some bottom feeders and crabs (my brothers idea). I wouldn't mind if they bred, but iam not gonna go to any lengths to get them to. thanks! ashley |

karfixer Big Fish Posts: 435 Votes: 1 Registered: 10-Mar-2002 | I started off with 2 pair of Golds in a planted tank with several Clown Loaches as pals. When I got home one night and found my males fighting and chasing everything else in the tank. I removed the newly installed plants-Water Lettuce IIRC and placed in a bucket of treated water. The next afternoon I noticed the water was full of wigglers I bought a 5G tank that evening, despairing that I had wiped out all my fishes babies and carefully moved the plants into the tank. Well, I have sold 100 to the LFS and still have a 15-20. I have a couple of a 2nd generation that were spawned in a tank with about 13 Golds. I found 9 babies after I sold all the adults, but only 2 survived. |
