Well, my betta is acting really weird lately, and I was wondering if anyone could help me to answer why. Here's my story (Let's all sit around the fire now...)

It all started when my violet goby began acting dumb while I was trying to sleep. If you wanna read up on that story, it's under "Loud Violet Goby" in the General Forum...Anyways....
It was the middle of the night, and I had been turning my light off and on at various times...and my betta tank is right by the light.
The last couple of times I turned the light on, my betta did this weird shaky thing. His entire back end started twitching and it twisted up so that his back end was on it's side floating. Then he would right himself and start jumping really fast around the tank.
He would continue jumping around quickly shortly after I turned the lights back off as well.
I'm not sure what could have cause him to act like this on this particular night, because my lights are on and off at various times EVERY night!
Was it the light that was bothering him, or does anyone have any guesses?
Any help is appriciated!
Brandi

Even if he never did it before? I don't really have much of an option for moving him. (Limited space)

Oh yeah, another development...everytime I open my door or anything near him he starts jumping again. It's like here lately he has gotten very paranoid ()...strange.
Thanks for your reply!

Do you have a heater? Or is the temp warmer there at the moment? I've noticed my bettas are more active when they are in warmer water.

How old is he? maybe he's going through a midlife crisis or something... ]

That very well could be haha ]
Well, no I have no heater...BUT I have never had one.
It could be the high temps making him active because it's summer.
