Hiya! In a couple of days I am moving, after that, I am going to move my female mbuna from my 10g hospitle tank (nothing is wrond with her, its just in my 46g, there were 2m and only 1f, so I have to stock that one up w/females and then move her back in ) Anyway, I'm going to have a spare 10g to stock ^^

I was thinking something like this:
1x Pygmy Gormi (Sparkling Gormie)
5x Blue Danios
1x small bottom feeder (any suggestions? I'm wanting something that would get to a maximum of 2 inches, like a mini catfish)

Do you think this tank would be problumatic?

I think that's a GREAT stocking plan.

hmm, for a small bottom feeder. *thinks* All that comes to mind really is Corys.

You could get this catfish(you may have to have your LFS special order it) Hara maesotensis http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=1766

I ahve this little fishy in my tank, although it's an insectivore http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/catfish1/p/upsidedowncat.htm

I hope one of those will help you make a decision

the danios i would skip, i would increase the number of sparkling gouramies.

maybe 4 white clouds,
and for the bottom, 4 panda cories.

alot of fishes, but with a good filter, it should be able to handle it.

The upside-down catfish will work in your tank just make sure you give it a nice place to hide. My girl sits in the top corner of the tank behind the thermostat and under some plant cover but also I made a nice cave for her to hide in if she is so inclined. I feed bloodworms as a treat and wafers a couple times a week.

edit:just dont expect to much movement until it gets comfortable. In the begining could go a week with out seeing her.

I think it'll work out very well. My UDC stays stationary usually I occasionally see him around the tank but since the UDC is nocturnal(at least mine is), you may only see it at night when it's dark.

I have this wood thing that had two 2"(wide) and like 4"(high) pieces of wood sticking up and they're curved. Mine likes to stay right up against it.

That sounds great!

Actually, I was browsing the LFS and came accross Yo Yo and Skunk loaches. Could I add any of them??

Stocking potential for 10g:
1x Sparkling Gourmie
5x Blue Danios

Both species grow to the 4" range and prefer company of their own kind. Neither is really a good idea for a 10g.

Dwarf chain loaches (Botia sidthimunki) are best kept in groups as well but are much smaller. Often difficult to find and/or expensive (more info)

If you want a bottom feeder, check out kuhli loaches. They require some company but are pretty small and don't add much bioload. I keep 3 of them in my 10 gallon tank. You just have to make sure they have something to hide under during the day since they're nocturnal fish.

As far as kuhlii activity I think it depends on the number you keep and how comfortable they are in their tank. I have 8 in my 30g. It's well planted with lots of hiding places yet all of them are very active during the day, lots of fun to watch

I agree, I see mine pretty often during the day too because they have a lot of places to hide but they're still out in the open more at night. If I wanna see them during the day all I have to do is throw some food in there and all of a sudden they're all over the place.
