Hey, I have a beautiful pearly white betta fish (with somewhat random red, purple, and blue spots named Osakapi) in a two gallon hex tank, and I was wondering, could I put anything else in there? I have had bettas before (in ten gallons) and I know what kinds of fish they are compatible with. I would only add one other fish in there that wouldn't exceed 2 inches like a guppy or a snail. Otherwise, I would leave the tank alone how it is. Any suggestions? Thanks,

I had an African dwarf frog in a 2.5g without any problems.

I think pet snails, like apples, grow too large for a 2g.

I did try putting a lone guppy I had in with a betta but that didn't work out, the betta kept harassing the guppy.

A pair of african dwarf frogs should do it.

Maybe an apple snail(P. Bridgessi).

I'll do graffiti,

Thanks for the replies, but at petco (I have never had snails before though) they said the ramshorn snail (the one I liked best) didn't exceed 1.5 inches. Is this true? Otherwise, I have had fancy guppies with bettas, and I have never had a problem, but I realize they have unique personalities. .. .

They are small, but reproduce like mad and eat plants.

The snail in my last post stays small, but requires a male/female pair and a lower water level to reproduce. Populastion explosions arent a problem with them.

I'd go with the snail Katie mentioned. I wouldn't try a guppy because you can't tell if they will get along or not and most likely, in that small of a tank, they won't. A 2g is really too small to add another fish, besides the betta.

Ramshorns do reproduce like mad, so I wouldn't get them. Go with the apple snail.
