I thought he'd be happy about having a female companion...I had to make a 4 hour trip to get her too!! Is this pretty normal behaviour? Will they get along or should I remove her before there is any more trouble. The only other tank I can move her to has 2 angels in it and 6 rummy nose tetras. Would she be ok with the angel fish? |

Gouramis tend to be a bit nippy and aggressive. what kind of gourami is it and are you SURE it is a female? EDIT: I just noticed your stocking list in your sig, why not move the female to the 10 gallon, put some seeded gravel and some aged water into the 10 gallon and it should be fine. I bought this from a very reputable fish store, actually ALL they sell is fish and aquariums, they really seem to know their stuff. They did tell me she was the most colorful female gourami they had ever seen. She is not drab at all, but beautifully blue. ( I have a dwarf powder blue male, they told me she was a neon female but she looks like the male I have right now so maybe the place I bought him from was wrong about what he is) the fish is about 2/3 the size of the male, her top fin is rounded at the back while his is pointed. I am going to be ticked if this is not a female, I had to pay $14.00 for her, plus make a 4 hour trip to go get her...]:| |

So she is a neon blue. They seem to be quite colorful...for a female. |

Depends first on the type of Gourami.. with dwarf gouramies, they can be a little aggressive. Second, it depends on the individual personality of the betta AND the dwarf gourami..only time can tell that. Some bettas are very passive..some aren't..some dwarves are ok..some are very aggressive. |

If u have two that are colourful then they are males, but the other should be fine in with the angels! If it is not these fish then i got it wrong sorry! |

The male freaked out majorly. Not only did he chase and attack her, but he did a number on a couple of my neons, too. Eventually had to trade him back to the pet store. Guess he and the new lady just didn't have the right "chemistry." |
