WOOT! black betta girl and her boyfrind :&) | |
fishyhelper288 Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | love her! sence i recenlty lost my other black girl i decided it was time to look again, well i found the PEREFCT black girl her body is PITCH black with some green scaling and her fins are red, a undesireable trait, but hey, i saw her and wanted her, then saw her brother ( a dark steel blue) both are crown tails, and both are double ray, i am setting up the breeding tank tomorrow (pics comming soon!) |

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | melano females are very hard to breed, as about 97% of them are infertile, Black lace is the more common type of "black" betta, they are mixed colors so they are fert. the "black" betta is a very general term as their are alot of types of "black" bettas. and the "black" genetics have been altered so many times. |

fishyhelper288 Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | i have a 10 gallon set up, with lots of floating plants, and around 2-3 gallons of water in it, i alsoready have the male and female in there (female is still in hurracane jar)i havent checked on them in a bit, but im starting to condition them too, she is LOADED with eggs for such a small girl! i reckon i will get around 100 viable babys to hatch, and knowing me probly 2 will survive but i cleaned the tank EXTRA good this time, and im goingto work harder to keep the fry alive and well, so far, all the fry that i have live atleast one of the parents died months later, so starting this wekend the bettas will be put on a scedual, and they will be recieving gravel in their tanks PLUS an anchored plant! i know they will be happy |
