I've read that these are bubble nest builders, but to be honest I don't really know what that means (I can imagine), but he doesn't seem to be making any bubbles. He appears to be taking grass, chewing it down to thin strands and then spitting it out into the upper corner of the tank. He's then getting any individual threads hanging down and spitting them up into the corner. Is this a nest he's building? Does it mean he's ready to breed or is he just doing it for something to do? He's still chasing the female away if she strays over to him, so he needs to work on his chat up lines first if he is ready to breed. Anyone have any info on Dwarf Gourami breeding techniques? Also what should I do if they do spawn? I presume the fry need protecting from the parents. |

The male might be making an atempt to build a nest mine took 2 pracises befor he made a perfect nest also if u have spira gira in your tank he will also use this and the spira gira will destroy the nest as it will take the nest over. The best way to get them to breed is to feed them live/frozen foods once every 1-2 days and add some floating plants. As the roots from these plants will encorage him to make bubbles. It may look like he is chacing he away but realy he is corting her. When she is ready ( when she has had 1-2 weeks of live/frozen food )she will tape the male on the fin at which point he will rap him self around her and they will swim up to the nest. She will then produce eggs ( about 100 )which should float up to the nest eny lose ones the male will collect and put in the nest. He will spray sperm on to the nest and then a thick la I hope this will help you ![]() |
