If it's the regular, long-finned B. splendens, then definitely the gourami. But there are many other Betta species that are way better than dwarf gouramis (for example, Betta macrostoma). I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

_wendy_ Enthusiast Posts: 174 Kudos: 164 Votes: 64 Registered: 18-Mar-2005 | it would depend what tank it was going in and what with. we have a betta in a 15g tank with loaches and platys and he is very active and lovely. yet in our 75g he just wouldnt work. in that one we had a pair of dwarf gouramis who looked lovely and served the purpose in that tank. |

I DO like gouramis to an extent, but a betta would win over a dwarf gourami any day. In some cases, like my female betta community, obviously, I couldn't have a male betta, and so might put in a gourami of some sort as centerpiece... if I had the room. And personally, I'd take pretty much any type of gourami over dwarfs... just something about the others I like more. *shrugs* ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |
