One of my males spawned a while back..with one of the females.. The male then had a nest that took went from one front corner of my 125 gal..to the back corner on that side..so about 2ft long..almost..?..by..6inch wide..of course, this WHOLE part wasn't full of bubbles..but there were multiple nests..of his..in the area..somtimes there was almost one big nest.
Anyway..long story short..I scooped up all the babies I could and put them in a hanging net..which is on the other side of the tank. A few babies i missed..he was guarding..but I have watched them dwindle away..and now there are no free swimming fry left..I don't think (this is a community tank, so that's why I separated the rest).
he is STILL building and rebuilding..his nest(S)... Will he wear himself out? Is this just normal behaviour?

Thats just normal behaviour. He wont wear himself out. If I were you, I would let him raise the fry this time and see if any work out!
Good luck!

WELL
the fry I left in the tank are gone..as far as I can tell..
and the fry in the net mysteriously dissapeared as well All I can think of..is there are some tiny gnat/beetle like bugs on the net..above the water..maybe they ate all the fry? But they ar much smaller than the fry were..puzzled.
