Nothing with long fins and it depends on the paradise fish. Like bettas some hate tank mates and will keep themselves occupied removing the eyes of anything that can get near. Some do fine in community tanks of active fish such as tetras.

I've never had a problem with them. At times they chase other fish around but generally I've found them peaceful. Currently I keep one with rasboras, platies, a guppy, mollies, and a female betta and a flame gourami. I'd say general community fish would work with them, as long as they're not too slow.

Smaller type cichlids such as kribs and keyholes will also do well with a paradise fish. If you add any tetras make sure they are the larger ones as a paradise fish may get aggressive toward smaller ones.

I've never had any tolerate gouramis at all. A few of the males and 1 female would attack cories, otos, and a few smaller fish. I still have a cory and 2 otos missing 1 eye from a male paradise fish.

Mine's even a male. I guess it's one of those things that just depends on the individual fish. Or maybe mine knows he rules the tank and doesn't see the need to fight.

Stay away from similar species such as gouramis and bettas...anything else should be a go...just watch for the paradise fish's personality...it varies from fish to fish.

I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more cowbell!
