fishyhelper288![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | well, im gunna see if i can get some crown fry finally, so im breeding my black crowntail female to a red/pink male, i dont care too much about the color, i just want some crowntail fry but, i have started the process and all by cleaning the breeding tank, stealing some bubble nest from my doners and the conditioning.well, i move the 2 fry that were still in the breeding tank to a grow out tank, added the male so he can examin the nest and check out his new digs then the female gets added in a walmart betta cup, after they got used to eachother and her stressy stripes went away, i went outside with another betta cup and a net, and i gathered the conditioning food, i have a 30 gallon tub sitting outside with about 7.5-10cm of sand and gravel and about 4-5 inches of water left for a bit the leaves gathered then the blood mothers came, did the deed, i collect them in large quantities twice daily when breeding bettas i gather about 50-60 individuals with the blood worms in the group every now and then i split em' between them with adding a few leaves to help with ph, the larve doesnt last too long, maybe a fe days, oh, and if u do this, i recomend you have a tight cover of saran to keep adults in, and if u ever have a cut or somthin when they r in there, just wipe it with a piece of tape, and slpi it in, u can have a continus supply of them, u also should add a clover or 2, so the males can live as well but yea, the bettas r dartin around fillin up their tummys now![]() about time for the next run to get a bunch for the other tanks ![]() |
