i got my first betta a couple day ago and i have noticed that on his tail fin the end of it is a whiteish color, there is a VERY little bit of white on his other fins too, barly noticable unless u look real close, i was wondering if this was just his coloring of if anything might b wrong with the fins

its me sk8freak20...i need to get premie so i can change my name back

If you look close at where the discoloration is, does it look like it's just faded or work color or that it's white?

Faded or worn can be bacterial finrot which may have happened before you got him, or later.
If it looks @all fuzzy where the white shows that's the more obvious form of fungal fin rot.
Test results for ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte, ph and temp if you have them may be of some assistance....
And yes...it could also be coloring :%) I've had a few bettas that have white on the edges of their fins.

well i just looked and his color goes from red. to and small layer of DARK red then a more clear, but where it goes from red to clear is a kind of uneven line, like some spots the color goes farther out of the tail then other, but the end of the actualy tail fin is strait tho, so im thinking its just color but im still not sure

so many veiltail bettas are "muts" that their color can start and stop anywhere...and they can have colors that don't match at all. I'm thinking its just normal

My female got munched on pretty badly when I bred her. When her fins healed, the new bits were white but slowly changed back to blue. Maybe your betta was injured and is still growing his fins back?

Or it could just be a bit of marble or an uneven butterfly pattern.
