betta hiding? | |
sirbooks Moderator Sociopath Posts: 3875 Kudos: 5164 Votes: 932 Registered: 26-Jul-2004 | I just bought a beautiful white betta with black fringe at my lfs today. I put it in my 29 gallon tank, of which the only other fish are 5 lemon tetras. After I had acclimated the fish, I went downstairs. When I came up, my new betta was hiding in a rock. I later found him hiding in amongst some plants near the bottom of the tank. Is there any reason my betta would be hiding, and will he keep doing it for long? My filter does produce a good current, is that the problem. I've never seen or heard of a betta doing this, please help. |

Some bettas do not like being in such a large amount of water. He may get over it or he may not. He could also just need to acclimate to his new BIG surroundings. If after a few days of this and he does not get better I would move him to a smaller enclosure. |

He doesn't seem to be afraid of me, or anything else. |
