bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | i was checking lfs price and this is the data: by me. petco= 3.49 avg/betta(which is good when they got a really nice betta for less) petland = 2.99 avg/betta(1.99 which betta setup) mutts & butts = 3.50 avg/betta(1.77 for yellow) smaller store = 3.50 - 20.00*(depending on the betta) wholesale = .50 avg/betta petsmart = 3.40 male/1.30 female/avg *-most small stores get bettas like viels alot, which are usually sold under 3.40-4.00. when they get bettas such as short tail,DT,CT,HM,Deltas etc. as well as color betta price go ^. the avg prices for a "special" betta is around 7.00 from what i have seen. ex. 1 store sold me a pure white female for 20.00. well that goes to show you that larger chain pet store might be so bad when i comes to getting fish cheap. Once you are past the purchase price, it takes just as much money to feed, care, house, and breed veils as it does bettas bred for show conformation. |

I've got a bone to pick with my petsmart, then... in almost every other thing, they're cheaper than petco, but I can get a betta for $3.49 at petco and pay nearly four bucks at petsmart (I think the price is like $3.97 or something) and females are the same price... and they've only had females ONCE that I know of. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

Although they did give me the difference of some Harlies I had gotten from them at 2.49/fish....Petco had them on sale for 99 cents |
