bettas and tiger barbs? | |
apologeticus Fingerling Posts: 27 Kudos: 28 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Aug-2004 | I'm just getting a new tank started. Right now I'm building up a school of tiger barbs, and I'm wondering if I can eventually add a male betta or if the tiger barbs might bother him too much (or vice versa). |

But I beleive that no matter how big of a "school" you have the temptation of a male betta's fins will be too much for the barbs. |

Stick with some other Cyprinids or something with smaller fins, like tetras or livebearers... Not only is it because of the nipping tendencies already mentioned, but also because for the most part most don't like the water current that barbs do. This of course depends on the betta, but most prefer still water. ^_^ |
