Aquabid is down now though, so just ask around if you are serious about buying over the internet. |

[link=http://www.aquaauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=100045]http://www.aquaauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=100045" style="COLOR: #990000[/link] I dont know why the me Black Lace? [link=http://www.aquaauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=100049]http://www.aquaauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=100049" style="COLOR: #990000[/link] A better black IMO. still has some blue irridescence, but it looks pretty cool Black Orchid? [link=http://www.aquaauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=100079]http://www.aquaauctions.com/auctiondetails.php?id=100079" style="COLOR: #990000[/link] One of the older of the 'fancy' blacks. Quite nice, but again, with that blue irridescence la There are a few others, Melano black, Black butterfly, Double black etc etc. If you want a pet, keep looking in the shops, or go to a breeder and see how much they charge for their infertile melano females (most melano girls are infertile) they should be pretty cheap |

Now if you want to see some outstanding Bettas in various colors ... Try bcbetta.com ... I just bought three from Marianne - 2 MGs with spawn sisters and 1 CT male, and I'm really anticipating their delivery! If you can, you should also monitor my friend Paul's web site, BiloxiBettas.com ... He will have stock available in February -- and as he emails pictures of the growing babies because of my interest, I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed in what he will list! Whites, Reds, Marbles and Mustard Gas... And the added plus is that his prices are quite reasonable!!!!(Frankly, as I've told him many times -- I can't wait until they're offered for purchasing!) Just as an added thought - you can view the actual parents of his upcoming stock on his web site. Another site that I like is ColoradoCrowntails.com And although the name depicts their specialty line - Sarah does have other Bettas available.... She does have some magnificent Black and Copper Crowntails available... Personally, in my experience I've found Whites and Blacks are a rarity in local stores... and like you, didn't realize at the time that I spotted them how "unavailable" they are locally! But the most elusive of all is Copper!!!!! I have NEVER seen a Copper in ANY local lfs or other establishment! Online they are available -- but truly at high prices... Hope this helps! You arent going to find copper veiltails, but deltas and plakats, for sure! |

Indeed it is very rare to find any solid color other than red at a LFS, let alone a melano. Melano females are sterile and there for do not produce viable eggs. So it makes the market on them slim. I know of some breeders/importers that you can get them from, but they will not be cheap and they are not gonna be veil tales. We are talking HMs now people. [link=http://www.wasanbetta.com]http://www.wasanbetta.com" style="COLOR: #00C000[/link] has them for sure. [link=http://www.bettatalk.com]http://www.bettatalk.com" style="COLOR: #00C000[/link] would be my next choice. Beth might not have any but could direct you in the direction you need to go. |
