There are many different color varieties of dwarf gourami, so you may have just picked up two males of different types. It is hard to tell, unless you know just what kind you picked up.
In any case, sexing the dwarf gourami is usually pretty simple. Males are much more colorful than females, who tend to be quite dull in comparision. I can't really help you with yours, because there are dwarf gouramis with metallic blue males, and other types where the females have such colors. It sounds like your orange one is a male, though.

If I had to bet my money on it, both are males.

Like Nick said, the dwarf gourami is rather easy to sex, b/c the males have nice coloring and the females are always rather dull and grayish looking.

Most pet stores know what catches the eye of the customers, and wont even get females in. I've seen both those color variations at the store that I work at, and I'd bet males as long as they have nice, bright, colors.

Make sure you're careful with the tank you put them in; dwarf gouramis are very peaceful but like many labyrinth species, the males will fight for dominance. If you want to keep them together, the tank should be 30 gallons or higher, closer to 55 IMO. Otherwise, some serious fin nipping is likely to take place.

G/L...
