What should be the ratio of males to females with dwarf gouramis. The tank is a 75g.

One of each sex is fine, or more females than males. Male dwarf gouramis are more likely to fight than females, but you shouldn't have any problems in such a large tank. You can safely add several pairs, as long as you have the room.

The dwarf gouramis I've seen the males are coloured and the females were and greyish colour. But I may have been mistaken

Most of what you see at your lfs's will be males. It's actually not that easy to find females, breeders like to keep them, I heard awile back. The males are bright and colorful while the females are more drab, kinda greyish with less striking differences in their colors. poor description, I know but hope it helps

Hiya Toirtis,

You've got mail. Thanks in advance.

Yeah I kind of notice that the ones at my LFS are all colourful(Meaning they were males right?), it really makes it difficult to get pairs in this case. Any advice for such a situation?

Mail sent....

As far as getting females....ask...most shops can get them in, but don't bother....it will likely be no hassle for them to get 3-4 females tossed in with their next wholesale order.

Hiya Toirtis,

Thanks for the mail. I'll try to check with the LFS about bringing me some females, gouramis that is.
