my dwarf blue gouramis were breeding the other day and when they embraced the eggs would come out and then the male and female would eat them! how can i stop them?

Are you sure they were eating them? Bubblenesters tend to pick up the eggs in their mouths and then spit them back into the nest. The constantly falling eggs are quite the irritation, I suspect, but most fish are pretty good about not eating them. Even if they were, they're just beginners - a few spawns in and they'll figure out that eating the eggs isn't helping.

I don't see how you could stop this if they are eating them. If you try and net the bubs you will stress the adults.

Like LM says, it sometimes takes a pair a little bit to figure it all out.
