I knew Bettas were fighters to begin with, but I didn't think itr was this bad!

I just came home to fine my beautify red long fined female with chunks missing out of her! She's isolated and can swim to he top of hte jar, but doesn't seem to feel like eating.

Do you think she'll survive?

I don't want a new one! She is the most beautiful fish I've seen, perfect colouration and evreything. She's missing a small chunk on h er side at her belly, about where it begins to sewll when they're full of eggs. The other noticable chunck is 3/4 of the way along her anal fin, split the fin in two and goes into the flesh.

Same, another female fighter. One that came from the same tank, but wasn't nearly as pretty. Or it may have been a cambodian female, they've all got torn fins, though only the red has torn away CHUNKS.

Ferox, separate the two girls, they don't get on, and get some melafix or bettafix. This will help torn fins and cuts. You are wise, no scents getting more when you have injured ones. Some female bettas can tolerate each other, but some don't. These two don't.

Dont feed her.

Keep that water SPOTLESS! change it daily.

Add salt and melafx and if you have some, a meth/mal/acriflavin mix. That will cover most bases.

Feed her in 3 days or when she begs for food.

Cross your fingers.

Dead this morning. I'm pretty sure I could see bones in the space where flesh should have been. I really thought she was going to be ok, she was swimming to the top all the time.

I put the probably killer into a betta baracks next to another particularly vicious female. They spent most of the night trying to kill each other thorough the plastic.

The cambodian might also have been hurt that day, but it's hard to tell. She had a torn fin, but that looked repairable at least.

I'm sorry she died. Poor thing. I had 8 females and none of them fought that badly. All the best of luck for the other two.I know you will be disappointed at the moment, but chin up. These two need you.
