Sin in Style Mega Fish Posts: 1323 Kudos: 1119 Votes: 165 Registered: 03-Dec-2003 | i have 4 gold gouramis in a 75g tank with assorted other peacfull fish. what i cant seem to do is get food to my dozen cories. i mean they get food but the gouramis go after everything i toss at them. im worried the gouramis are over feeding daily between the flake food and sinking food i give to the bottom feeders. can they over feed to the point they get sick? anyway to get food in there with out them noticing? ive tried everything and they just follow the cories to the food lol. |

They are generally somewhat active after daylight hours (at least in my tank), while gouramis 'sleep' at night. Also, you can try feeding some of the larger wafers. The gouramis won't be able to steal or consume them from the surface or midwater, though the cories will be able to eat the wafers at their own pace. The gouramis shouldn't get sick from overeating, because fish usually stop eating once they're full. Some of the more intelligent fish will consume food even when they aren't hungry, and shred it out their gills. This makes it so that competitors can't get food, which is a helpful trick in the wild.
