A couple of days without food will not harm your Betta, about 6/7 days will be Ok.

Maybe you'll recieve any personal experiences here aswell.

you can try blackworms, but they could go off. can you take the whole bowl over to a froends place to mind it?

When I first got my first male betta, he didn't eat for 4 days, so i guess they'll be okay for at least that long. I'd feel bad not feeding them for a week though.

I've left our betta a week with no ill effects. He was hungry when we got home, but otherwise fine. I made sure he had nice fresh water right before we left.

<~~ is a big fan of Calla's "take the who kit & kaboodle to a friends place" idea... I dumped all 12 of mine on Calla when i went away!

But failing that, if they're in really good nic before you go, they *should* be ok for a week .... theoretically they can go without food for several weeks, but i'm not game to push that one
