Hey guys, I have a male betta that use to be energetic, building bubble nests but recenly he been layin on the bottom of his tank. I gave it a 100% water change but that doesn't change his behavior, he only swims about when I feed him other than that he lays sideways on the ground. Almost as if he's dead.

Have a few questions before I could be of much help:

How often do you change the water?
What size tank?
What do you feed the fish, and how often?
Any other visible problems? Does the fish float sideways at all?
What temperature is the fish kept at?

I change the water about once every 2 weeks.
Tank size is about 1.5 gallon.
I feed him live foods, worms. Sometimes flakes.
No visible problem, maybe a slight decline in the brightness of color on his body. The fish does not float sideways, He swims perfectly normal, it's just that when he's not swimming, he is on his side on the bottom of the tank.
The fish is kept at room temperature, ~68-70F.

I would suggest changing the water (100%) each week.He may have a bladder problem but I am not sure on that.

Yeah, clean water is the cure for so many problems. Go for the full weekly change and see if he improves. Everything else sounds to be in good shape, except for your temperatue. If you can get him over 70 he should also improve quite a bit. They get sluggish under that.

Bettas do best at 75-82 degrees. I keep my female bettas at 82ish, and they are really active and very healthy
