Just wondering if anyone has them or has kept them in the past. I'm thinking about getting a few for my new tank (sparkling and three-striped croaking gouramis)...any info about keeping them would be great, pictures even better

edit: how best to keep them: singly, pairs, group?

I don't have personal experience with them...but I was curious too, so I found a couple of websites about them...

here are just some pictures:

here are a couple of website about them:
http://aquaworld.netfirms.com/Labyrinthfish/Parosphromenus/Parosphromenus_paludicola.htm

http://www.mongabay.com/fish/species/Parosphromenus%20deissneri.html

Here is someone's experience with breeding them:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/ps.mcfarlane/licorice.htm

Seems they like really soft water (1 dGH) and very acidic pH. They like floating plants as well. They're a delicate species.

Hope I've helped.

edit: Just saw your edit. I've read they can be kept alone, or in pairs. But since these are pretty shy fish, a pair or group would probably do better.
