I've heard that it isn't always smart to mix med. size gouramis in a tank (blue, snakeskin, pearl). But, I was wondering if I could make an ecception in a 180 gallon tank. I would like the tank to house 1 snakeskin gourami and maybe some blues (different color morphs). Will they still fight, even in that big of a space?

I could be wrong, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am, but I would think that a 180 would be large enough for them to establish territory. Also, getting mostly females would help with that as well.

What other fish were you thinking for the tank?

I belive puffer to be correct, in a tank that size they will make their own territorys and mostly leave each other be, but i would go with pairs not singles and the blue colour morps may squabble a bit

I had Pearl & 2 Spot Gouramis in the same tank & it was a 120Litre. I didn't have any fighting & they where peaceful with each other.

Ok, all girls it is!
how about:
1 snakeskin
1 blue
1 gold
1 opaline

180/4 should be ok, right? There will be no other surface fish. Only a school of silver dollars and two sting rays (mid. and bottom fish)
