my four three spot gouramis... | |
featherrrrr Fingerling Posts: 19 Kudos: 13 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jul-2004 | i have four three-spot gouramis... three females and a male. is it normal for them to chasing each other and nip at each other's fin, body, and etc...??? cuz mine do... at first, they would swim together, eat together and now, every time they cross each other, they bite and nip. would it be better for me to trade in three of my three spot and get one neon (male) Dwarf Gourami? so it'll be one three-spot(female or male) and one dwarf gourami... i really need help. Maybe you can exchange 1 or 2 Gouramis with a Pearl Gourami. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

They can also be very nice..I had one that was nice, and the rest were not. 2 females were the WORST]had lip locking battles all the time like Kissing Gouramies. Pearl Gouramies are very peaceful..you could get a trio (a male and 2 females) of them. OR if any of your 3 spots are nice..you could just exchange the rest. They definitely can vary as far as personality goes. I've also had some nasty dwarf gouramies, though too..but none as bad as some of the Blues. |

BUT, i dont think i can trust two male gouramis in the same tank. blah. or keep a my male and a female and get a neon dwarf. what do u guys think? |

It's hard to say what they will act like..when you are mixing very different species of gouramies such as dwarves and blues..kinda 50/50 imho. They could ignore..the dwarf could be hateful..the blue might recognize it as a male..or not. |
