need help with female betta | |
Mogwai Fingerling Posts: 16 Kudos: 19 Votes: 0 Registered: 14-Nov-2004 | hi have have been trying to breed my bettas for about 3 mths and finaily they did it yestrday so i stayed up all night watching and about 6pm tonight. i toke her out becouse it looked like it was all over and the male was picking on her and about 11 .i was just checking on them and she had a big nest in her tank y would this be (please help) Thanks Mogwai |

I have heard of females assuming the role of a male, even building bubble nests, although it's weird she built one one day after she bred. You would think she was a little beat up or at the very least tired. I guess not impossible though. BTW another bit of advice I just recently read in another post is too make sure you don't turn the light off on your male Betta while he is tending to the eggs. Hooktor Fish Addict Posts: 646 Kudos: 651 Votes: 67 Registered: 22-Mar-2004 | I would wait AT LEAST a week or two, maybe even three to breed again. It is better for them to have rest, and you will probably get better results. They need their rest. |
