how old do p.gouramis have to be in order to distinguish male or female? (a few months maybe?) Thankx in advance

In order to sex pearls, they need to be mature enough so that the male will develope the redish/orange colors by his throat. I'm not positive what age they get this, but pearl gouramis tend to grow very quickly, so you shouldn't have to wait *too* long, depending on how big they were when you bought them. HTH
