Will pearl and moonlight gouramis live peacefully in the same tank, if it's large enough? And if so, how large would be large enough?

I currently have three pearls, and the larger of the two males is fairly aggressive.

I've kept Pearls but not Moonlights. Pearls are very non aggressive fish. They can't put up with a whole lot as far as aggression..although I didn't keep mine with a few 3 spot varieties of Gouramies (which are pretty aggressive) at a time and they were ok, but they were ignored. As long as Moonlights are VERY non aggressive like they are told to be..I'd look for ppl who have actually had them and can witness them being really nice..even better, have had both together. I do know moonlights get big-Pearls only get to about 6". What size is your tank?

I can verify that moonlights are very very gentle. They aren't as timid as you think...mine will stick itself right inbetween my zebra danios and keyholes at feeding time. But in no way is he agressive. I have a slight concern for your fairly aggressive male. However, when the moonlight gets ajusted to the tank, he will do fine.

I think it would be best to introduce the moonlight first...then the pearl gouramis.

The only aggression I've seen from Pearls goes like this: One Pearl going after another..and the other retreating. I've never seen physical injury or even really attempts at it. If that is how you say your pearl is aggressive, I'd not worry about it. I've never had pearls do this to other fish outside of their own kind.
