small planted tanks & water changes | |
Theresa_M Moderator Queen of Zoom Posts: 3649 Kudos: 4280 Votes: 790 Registered: 04-Jan-2004 | My betta is in an unfiltered 2g hex with floating hornwort. I'd like to add gravel and a small plant or two. My question is about water changes in this type of setup. I currently move him to a bowl, change the water, then add new water and put him back in. With plants though I think this method would uproot them each time I did a cleaning. Does anyone have a similar setup, and if so how do you go about doing water changes/tank cleaning? This is very convenient for me, as I can just take the bucket around the room to each tank, then dump it all at once in the laundry room sink. When the tank is only a gallon or two, it only takes a couple minutes. I then use a large plastic cup to pour in the fresh water. In that small of a tank and with only 1 betta in it, gravel vacs aren't really going to be a necessity. The plants will appreciate the fertilizer HTH Last edited by gartenzwerfe at 02-Apr-2005 00:21 |
