tank mate for betta? | |

iltat Mega Fish Posts: 1076 Kudos: 1216 Votes: 0 Registered: 14-Oct-2002 | Assuming the tank is filtered, you can range your choices from an African Dwarf Frog (make sure it's not an African Clawed Frog as they will hurt your betta), small school of cories, school of rasboras, school of peaceful tetras, school of white clouds, or a couple other peaceful tankmates. I wouldn't get cherry barbs since my experience with them has resulted in them being a little nippy and I wouldn't want to risk that with my betta, but the choices are rather numerous... Gregs Got Fish 129 Big Fish Posts: 355 Votes: 0 Registered: 10-Oct-2003 | I'd get something slow-moving so that Betta isn't freaked out. I think African Dwarf Frogs, Apple Snails, Cories, Guppies,Platies, and BN Plecos are all good choices. |

Some say you can keep male and female together in a large tank, but personally, I wouldn't even try that. If you want to breed bettas, you generally only keep the male and female together for a short time. It's possible to keep several females together, but males don't work with other bettas. I'd go with cories (who could possibly ob ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |
