What kind of tetras do you have? Certain ones are nippier than others. Also, it depends on how much cover your gourami has. The more places it can hide, the less chance it will get picked on. Most tetras are pretty peaceful (non-nippy) though, so there shouldn't be any problems.

I agree with sir brooks,

It really depends on how much cover your gourami has from the tetras. Two other factors are what kind of tetras you have and how many. If you have 5 or more tetras they might team up on your gourami. You can fix this problem easy! all you have to do is find some underwater plants, and let them float at the surface of your tank.

You will need a few large, leafy plants that cover almost half of the tank. These plants will also improve your chances of breeding your gouramis. ( if you have more than one )
