right now i am thinking of spawning pairs when it gets warmer outside. n.e way i have still problem. i have this smaller DTHM white male that i have tried breeding in the past but didn't work. i was planning on breeding him with my yellow HMF , but this girl is a known fin nipper as i have tried her b4 with this male and she ate his fins. now should i try again with controlled breeding or should i try to find another white or yellow female?

Well first i wouldn't breed yellow with opaque, you will get a dirty opaque colour and most likely lots of red wash. I would try to find another opaque female. But if you still wanna breed them then why not. How did you try breeding them before? Like did you have the female in a seperator for a while and then release her? If so, then maybe try something different, like just put her right in the tank with the male- no seperator. I've done that before with aggressive females and have had success.

good luck

i breed my bettas under controlled conditions. basically i put the female in a cup and place her in the male's tank. wait untill they have a nest then release her when she shows signs

Or maybe let her have the ability to jump out?

I agree, yellow and opaque seems to be a bad idea.
