Well...

The set up is really just your own opinion.

I like the 5 gallon mini bow a lot. That tank comes with a whisper filter already, all you have to do is turn the flow down. In addition you can change the incandescent bulb over to one of those spiral flourescent ones.

Then I'd add a 25 or 50 watt submersible heater, with an exact temperature dial.

I'd say plant the tank, but that might be a little annoying with weekly water changes...so several silk plants may be nicer.

On top of that, a fist size "lounging" rock will make a nice addition.

Add a thermometer and a DDG betta and you're good to go.

I'll post a pic as soon as I find one.

EDIT: Just make sure anything you put in passes the panty hose test. Don't want any ripped fins.

Aiite...found one.

This is my pineapple doubletail's 2.5 gallon minibow over the summer. (Notice there's no heater at this time )

Where you run panty hose across the edges of everything and if it catches on anything then it means it could rip the betta's fins.

Yepp.

Before putting anything into a betta tank, run it through a piece of panty hose first.

If it snags, that means it's sharp enough to tear a bettas fins, which obviously we don't want to happen!

Just a safety measure.
