A blue gourami would work just fine then, they tend to be good fry eaters. Unfortunately, they'll likely eat the ghost shrimp. If you do want an algae eater, just remember that you should get one that won't grow past seven inches. Any algae eating fish beyond that size would be too large for a thirty gallon tank, in my opinion. |

No gourami/labyrinth fish does well in brackish, though. That said, a single paradise fish would keep things in line. Eric |

I have been keeping Sailfin Mollies and Dalmation Mollies in my freshwater tank for 3 years now with no problems. For a 30g tank I would go for a pair of Pearl Gouramis, or an Opaline Gourami Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |

Big E Fish Addict Posts: 606 Kudos: 382 Votes: 0 Registered: 20-Feb-2001 | Is your water hard (that helps)? Three years in pure FW is really good for mollies, but I'll maintain they are native to brackish waters and thrive in Florida in near full SW. I also think they tend to be healthier, never have "shimmies", and are ich free. Eric |

They have never had "ich" or shimmies and they seem very healthy, going on 3 years now and hopefully several more!
