They're good to have on hand for emergencies...sick fish, fry, etc. At one point I used one to breed snails for my puffers. I went to a fish auction once not intending to buy anything and this tiny female DT betta followed me home so she lived in there temporarily until she went in the big tank. I don't know if I'd keep a full-sized betta in it though, being just over half a gallon. If it were a young (small) betta, or maybe a QT home. If it's free though you might as well get it ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

I personally wouldn't keep a betta in anything smaller than a one gallon, though. Since you only have two-thirds of a gallon, maybe keep a snail or something? |
