Sailfin mollies are not in my experience nor opinion aggressive at all, except the males may try to breed with female guppies, unsucessfully usually due to the sailfins large size. So_Very_Sneaky Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3238 Kudos: 2272 Votes: 201 Registered: 10-Mar-2004 | 1. goldfish NO, for the simple fact an adult goldfish gets too large for most tanks, and will definetly be able to consume adult guppies when mature, and probably will with delight. 2. tiger barbs NO,way too nippy and quick. 3. endlers Yes 4. female bettas No, can be quite nippy and bossy 5. cory cats Definetly. 6. angel fish Yes, I have done this for a very long time now, Angels will eat young guppys though, but in My experience, angels are not fin nippers, nor aggressive. And Guppies do excellently in soft , warm, acidic water with No salt. 7. hatchet fish Yes definetly. 8. tetras Most Yes. Serpas, Bleeding Hearts, Penguins, Black/White Widows no. Neons/Glowlights/Rummynose definetly. 9. rainbow fish Yes, will eat guppy fry like crazy. 10. gorami Yes, will also eat guppy fry like crazy. 11. mollies Yup. Definetly. 12. platies Yup. Definetly. As always with bettas, it depends on the aggression level. I currently keep three betta girls in with fancy male guppies. They don't bother the guppies. I also keep a MALE betta in with female guppies... no issues there, either. I've kept a male betta in with male guppies for a month or two... there was just a bit too much aggression happening, though I think it would have worked with a slightly less aggressive male. ~Meow. But this isnt for you What are the chances she has a pond that can sustain both guppies and goldfish? Fancies can get as big as a grapefruit and commons get as big as 2 feet. Also, theres a good chance her climate isnt the same as yours. She might live somewhere where winter is long and very, very cold. Not a good habitat for guppies. ========================================================= To the original poster How big is the tank and what do you have in it? I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |

Please don't mix Endler's & guppies since they can interbreed and Endler's are believed to be extinct in the wild. If you want fry to survive be careful with angels, gouramis, bettas, larger tetras. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004 | Goldfish are not good tank mates for guppies; they grow way too big and require a very different environment. I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |
