Recently I put in a special request/order at my lfs for a Blue Platy male... Already having 2 spectacular blue females, I wanted a male for the obvious reason - to be "Daddy"...... Was quite surprised and curious when I received an email from the Corporate Office advising that Blue Platys are hard to come by due to the fact that they aren't really popular, but that the local store would be receiving a shipment of Neon Blue Platys next week that I might be interested in.... ??????????
I never realized that there would be different varieties of "Blue" ..... I knew about the Spotted Blue Platy variation... But in light of this new revelation, I'm wondering what type of "Blue" my females are!?! (Really wish I could figure out how to link pictures or at the least figure my digital camera out! But alas! I am completely unskilled when it comes to high tech!!!!!!) All fins are white, underbelly is white, and the blue on the remaining part of the body (back & sides) is a shimmery medium blue (not navy - not royal blue - somewhere inbetween)..... NO spots! When purchased several months ago, they were in a "mixed" platy tank..... Anyone have any ideas on what type I have? Are there any picture links that you know of showing the different types of blue?

To thine own self be true...
